Alvar Aalto designed the classic A810 Floor Light for the Helsinki Social Insurance Institution in 1959. Floor Light A810 has two hand-riveted shades, each formed from delicate, lacquered metal strips. Together they present a striking combination of lines and curves and allow for an interesting interplay of direct and indirect light. The stand is finished in hand-sewn black leather, while the stem has polished brass or stainless steel. The light is ideal for different rooms in the home and also works well as a reading light.
