Alvar Aalto designed the classic A810 Floor Light for the Helsinki Social Insurance Institution in 1959. Floor Light A810 has two hand-riveted shades, each formed from delicate, lacquered metal strips. Together they present a striking combination of lines and curves and allow for an interesting interplay of direct and indirect light. Three Artek Helsinki Special versions of the A810 Floor Light have been made, with bases finished in hand-stitched brick red, dark green, and natural-colored leather, and the upper part of the stem in polished brass. The light is ideal for different rooms in the home and also works well as a reading light. Limited availability.
